happy new week to you, and how are you enjoying your day? This week, we will be looking at lessons from someone, strong prophets and followers of God.for we to live a great life, we have to study the life's of those great men that have lived, copying how they live but we can emulate their good undying love for God.
There is this saying that if you want to be good at something then you study those that have passed through that, and have been successful with. Therefore we will be looking at those great and successful followers of God, from the bible, and with this, Daniel will start this wonderful week for us.
Daniel was a young man when he was taken to Babylon, He was upright in the things of God.
we will be talking about three lessons you can learn from Daniel ;
- OBEDIENCE
- WISDOM and
- PRAYER
(Daniel 1:8)
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
He purposed in his heart, he had already agreed with himself not to disobey God.
one thing you should know is that when you have acknowledged, that you don't want to fall into sin, then you ask God to strengthen you.
note this that Daniel was a slave in the land of Babylon, he does not have the power to refuse the King's food, neither does he has the authority to ask for his own food that he's supposed to eat. But what we read at (Daniel 1:8) say's that he purposed in his, some of us might say that God will understand his situation. but Daniel didn't say so, instead he still purposed in is heart not to disobey God.
DANIEL DISPLAY WISDOM
from Daniel chapter 2, we read how Daniel was able to give the king the meaning of his forgetten dream, which all the astrologers, socerers, wizards of the kingdom of Babylon can not display.
he was skilled in every knowledge and knowing science, Daniel was very good.
DANIEL WAS PRAYERFUL
The bible say pray without ceasing, Daniel possesses the power to pray always.
Daniel 6 - shows us how Daniels enemies conspired against him to have him killed.
Daniel was promoted over all the governors and satraps under Darius.
They wanted him out, but they could not find any fault in him.
So they devised a way to get him executed by getting
the king to sign a law saying that no one could pray for 30 days except
to the king. If they did, they were to be case into a den of lions.
After this was passed, Daniel went home, opened his windows, and prayed to God.
His enemies saw him and reported him to the king.
The king did not want to deliver Daniel to the lion's den.
But the law was unchangeable under Medopersian rule.
So Daniel was cast into the lion's den.
The king fasted and prayed that evening.
He rose up early in the morning.
He called out for Daniel.
Read Daniel 6:22, 23.
Eph.6:18 "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints".
CONCLUSION
Daniel has all of this qualities, because he was faithful with God, and keeping God's commandment.
when you keep God's commandment he has promised to give you wisdom, understanding in all things.
If you are not a christian, it will be better you
- repent of your sin (Acts 17:30) and accept Jesu as your lord and personal saviour
- confess Jesus as the son of God (Matt.16:16)
- and then get baptized for the remission of sin (Mark 16:15,16)
